CoAssembly Design co-op

  1. CoAssembly Design co-op is Taiwan’s first design studio operating under cooperative principles, co-founded by I-hao Liao (Mōr), Tzu-Yun Wei, and Munus Shih.
  2. Our work spans brand identity, creative technology, and experimental publishing. We bring together collaborators across disciplines, pairing cultural research with community-oriented methods to support long-term work rather than one-time exchanges.
  3. We have designed and collaborated closely with partners including Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI), National Taiwan University, Pratt Institute (New York), the Taiwan Pavilion at the Berlin International Film Festival, Tsao Tzu Tou (草字頭), and Asian Labor Future (Thailand).
  4. Since 2022, CoAssembly has led the SpOnAcT! project, our community garden where we curated the 2nd Processing Community Day Taiwan, bringing together over 20 artists, creative technologists, and educators across six countries and reaching more than 5,000 online participants.
  5. We recently published Contemporary Workers’s Survival Guide (vols. 1 & 2), an initiative to a series of work on labor issues in design, presented at the Tokyo Art Book Fair and the Bergen Art Book Fair in Norway.
